 Abstract:  Glenville Congregational Church was organized in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1901 by Reverend William Colbert Detling and originally called the People's Church of Glenville. The name was changed to Glenville Congregational Church in 1910. It was disbanded in January, 1962. The collection consists of trustees' minutes, committee reports, material on the resignation of Rev. Albert B. Eby, church roll, church register, church transfer records, printed directories, and miscellaneous material, including a typed history and articles of incorporation.

 Abstract:  Anshe Chesed Congregation is the oldest existing Jewish congregation in Cleveland, Ohio. It was established in 1841 when 30 members seceded from the Israelitic Society of Cleveland. The two congregations merged again in 1845 under the name Israelitic Anshe Chesed Society of Cleveland. It is also popularly known as Fairmount Temple, reflecting its current location on Fairmount Boulevard in Beachwood, Ohio. The collection consists of correspondence, directories, sermons, books of remembrance, booklets, brochures, bulletins, guidebooks, flyers, proclamations, programs, tickets, and speech.

 Abstract:  East Madison Avenue Church was a Congregational church founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1874 as a mission church of Euclid Avenue Congregational Church. The collection consists of four bound volumes and a baptismal certificate book. The first vol. contains lists of members and baptisms, and minutes of annual congregational meetings. The second vol. contains a constitution, articles of incorporation, and minutes of the Madison Avenue Congregational Church Society, the Board of Trustees, and the Building Committee. The third vol. contains a roll of new members. The fourth vol. contains revisions to the constitution, baptisms, and minutes of annual meetings. The baptismal certificate book contains record stubs of certificates issued.

8Title:  Park Congregational Church Records

 Dates:  1902 
 Abstract:  Park Congregational Church was organized in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1886 through a union Sunday school held by Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Roberts. After several years of meeting in a union church on the corner of Doan Street and Crawford Road, the church was adopted by the Euclid Avenue Congregational Church in 1888 and was then known as the "North Branch." By 1890 the North Branch was recognized as an independent church and a new, more centrally-located church was built on the corner of Crawford Road and Cullison Street. The collection consists of a written history of the church, a list of church officials and donors, and a manual, including a history of the church, printed in 1902.

 Abstract:  The Fifth Evangelical and Reformed Church was founded in 1876 in Cleveland, Ohio, as the Funften of Fifth Evangelical and Reformed Church. From its organization until it disbanded in 1971 the church was located on the corner of Hague Avenue and West 67th Street. The collection consists of four bound volumes of records. Volumes I and II contain the church's registers and constitution, recorded in German. Volume 3 contains the minutes of the governing board of the church's Sunday School, also in German. Volume 4 contains a later register, recorded in English.

 Abstract:  Trinity Congregational Church was incorporated in 1894, in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1928 it moved to the suburb of Cleveland Heights. From 1946 to 1952 services were held in a school in Shaker Heights. In 1952 the congregation moved to Pepper Pike, Ohio. The collection consists of correspondence, minutes of meetings, treasurers' accounts, annual reports, and pamphlets, relating to the church and to the activities of various church-related organizations, including Christian Endeavor Society, Ladies Aid Society, Young Women's Missionary Society, Pastoral Committee, Founder's Circle, and Junior Fellowship. Includes church bulletins (1896-1909, 1918) and plans and accounts relating to construction of a new building.

 Abstract:  The Early Families in Cleveland project was sponsored by the Genealogical Committee of the Western Reserve Historical Society as part of Bicentennial celebration of Cleveland, Ohio, in 1996. The purpose of the project was to document those individuals who resided in Cuyahoga County, or whose ancestors resided in Cuyahoga County, at least ten years prior to the date of settlement of their (or their ancestor's) ethnic group. Each verified applicant to the project received an award certificate presented at the Family History Fair in May 1996, or during Family Days in November 1996.
